Everyone Says Senku Is an INTP. This Time They Might Actually Be Right

Not every popular typing is wrong. Senku Ishigami is the cleanest INTP in modern anime — here is the evidence, and why agreeing with the internet makes our verdicts worth reading.

A site full of "everyone gets this typing wrong" takes stops being worth reading the moment it becomes a grift. So here is the credibility check: a character where the internet consensus is simply, solidly correct.

Senku Ishigami is an INTP. High confidence. The popular typing is right, and this page shows our work — because a verdict you agree with proves nothing unless you can see why it was reached.

The Case: Ti-Ne, Textbook

Run Senku through the function framework and every major trait lands where the theory predicts.

Dominant Ti: knowledge as the product. Before petrification, Senku was a science hobbyist with a rocket obsession and no patent, no product, no plan to monetize — because the understanding was the point. After petrification, stranded in the Stone World, his first instinct is not survival or empire. It is counting seconds accurately for 3,700 years — a private, pointless-to-anyone-else act of measurement discipline that later saves everything. That is the Ti internal standard rendered as plot: precision maintained even when the audience is zero.

His explanations run on first principles, always. He doesn't just make soap; he explains the saponification reaction. He doesn't just make a car; he gives the class a materials-science lecture. The show's entire educational rhythm is a Ti-dominant mind narrating its model-building.

Auxiliary Ne: one material, fifty uses. The engine of Dr. Stone's plot is possibility generation. Senku looks at limestone and sees cement, and sees a village economy, and sees a path to sulfuric acid, and sees a phone. Every resource triggers a branching tree of "what could this become" — the Ne signature, played at civilization scale. His catchphrase math ("this is getting exciting — ten billion percent!") is optimism about possibility space, not about a single planned outcome.

Tertiary Si, selectively deployed. Senku's knowledge archive is enormous but idiosyncratically organized around what his model needs — the science-nerd version of remembering strange details while the practical world burns. He can reproduce civilization's tech tree but needs others to handle the daily maintenance of being a person.

Inferior Fe, visible and sympathetic. This is the best-written part of the typing. Senku's care for people is real and constant — but it flows through competence: he builds the thing, fixes the thing, saves the village, and never once says the feeling out loud. Watch him with Chrome, with Suika, with his father's glass record. The emotions arrive on delay, get processed privately, and surface as engineering. That is inferior Fe done with unusual grace — and it is why the "emotionless genius" reading of him is as wrong as it is for the type generally.

The Counter-Arguments, Honestly Handled

A fair analysis tries to break its own verdict. The case against Senku-as-INTP:

"He is too mission-driven." This is the strongest objection. The INTP stereotype drifts; Senku marches — he declares the goal (rebuild civilization, save the petrified) and executes across years. Doesn't that smell like Ni-Te convergence?

No — because of what the mission is made of. Senku's goal is not a single envisioned end-state; it is an iterative build tree, adjusted constantly as new materials, people, and problems enter the system. He re-plans every episode. He delights in detours (every side technology is a joy, not a distraction). The mission has the shape of a grand engineering project run by a mind that treats the whole road as the destination. Ti-Ne with an unusually strong work ethic — which the type never lacked; see Shikamaru on the laziness slander.

"He's too socially effective." Senku leads a village, negotiates with warlords, and runs recruitment better than most protagonist types. But watch the mechanics: he recruits through demonstration and shared problem-solving, not through reading the emotional room. His people follow competence, and he knows it. That is a Ti-dom who has pragmatically outsourced charm to results.

"He performs showmanship." The theatrical announcements ("I am the man who will rebuild civilization with science!") read Ne-playfulness, not Fe-performance. He is doing it for his own amusement and Chrome's education, not to manage anyone's feelings.

None of the objections break the typing. That is what a correct consensus looks like: you strain to find a real counter-case and come back with nitpicks.

Final Verdict: INTP, High Confidence

Senku is the control sample for this entire site — the character that proves our contrarian verdicts on L, Ayanokoji, and Sherlock are analysis, not attitude. When the evidence says the internet is right, we say the internet is right, loudly.

The general rule his case demonstrates: typing is about cognition, not vibes — and Senku has both. His vibes are INTP and his decisions are INTP, which puts him in the minority of famous typings. Enjoy the consistency. It is rarer than it should be.
