Our Method — How INTP Atlas Types Characters

No vote counts, no vibes. How INTP Atlas analyzes personality typings — cognitive functions first, evidence both sides, a clear verdict, and honest confidence levels.

On this page

Most personality content on the internet is a census. A character feels INTP, a few thousand people agree, the label calcifies, and it gets recited in listicles forever. This site exists because that process is wrong in a specific, fixable way: it types aesthetics instead of cognition.

What We Do Differently

Functions over vibes. Every verdict on this site is derived from the cognitive function stack — what a character's mind does first when it has to decide. Quiet, clever, and quirky are aesthetics; branching exploration, provisional conclusions, and verification-first reasoning are cognition. Only the second category counts as evidence.

Both sides, on the record. Every character page presents the strongest case for the popular typing before the case against it. If a consensus survives, we say so plainly — Senku and Shikamaru are typed INTP here with full confidence, because agreeing with the internet when the internet is right is what makes disagreeing meaningful.

Verdicts with confidence levels. Type analysis is interpretation, and pretending otherwise is how pseudo-science gets its reputation. Every verdict carries an honest confidence:

  • High — the cognitive evidence is one-directional and the counter-case is thin.
  • Moderate — the evidence favors a verdict but a reasonable analyst could land elsewhere.
  • Contested — the case is genuinely two-sided, and we say which arguments carry each side.

Real people get asterisks. Historical figures can't be interviewed; their typings are informed interpretation of biographical evidence, never fact. The famous INTPs page marks this explicitly.

What This Site Is Not

Not affiliated with any personality assessment publisher, and not a replacement for one — MBTI itself is a lens, not a lab instrument, and everything here is analysis built on that lens, used for commentary on fictional characters and public figures.

Fictional characters are referenced for commentary, analysis, and criticism under fair use; no affiliation with any franchise is claimed or implied. Images: we use original abstract graphics only, because typing with our own words is the whole point.
